Restore/ recover disk problem
Hi guys I have a acer aspire 7750g running windows 7 home premium 64bit

My laptop did that auto update to windows 10 and it just wasn't for me and additionally it seemed to impact on my laptops performance

So I rolled back to to 7 and that's where the real problems began the machine became extremely slow I tried all sorts deleting anything non essential virus scans the lot nothing seemed to do much so I dug out my recovery disks I made Upton purchase

All seemed to be going well but shortly after having to insert disk 2 it gives up the recovery gets to 43% (now copying z:\images\pop010eao0xx1cf174.swm

It sour there on 43% for a good 5 mins then it pops up saying

Restore failed-error code=Ox17(dataerror (cyclic redundancy check ).)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have three Acer Aspire laptops and some programs that will not run on anything after Windows XP. I am trying to find a safe place to download the necessary drivers to get these machines running again.

Aspire 7141Z with Windows 10 version 1511 installed. Now an update to version 1607 is necessary. The download and preparation phase for the new version goes ok. The installation phase goes well until the second automatic restart. After the second restart, installation at about 70% ready, the restart don't comes to an end.

Disk controle is ok.

I don't know if I am on the right board or not but I am in need of drivers for the ethernet controller and pci simple communications controller for my Acer Aspire 5742-7620.  I checked the Acer website and non of these drivers are offered.  Thanks for your help.

so the title basically says it.  I was installing my new OS along side windows and left laptop plugged in over night so the battery must have gotten a good charge.  Now neither OS sees my battery's juice level.  I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world if linux/Ubuntu wouldn't constantly turn the monitor off thinking it's going to die but sure would be nice to resolve this and be able to see what my battery level is. Any ideas?

I was wondering if it is possible to replace my current screen with the touch screen out of a 572p. The laptops look identical I'm just not sure if my screen has the gold 30 pin connector and i also have NVIDIA 840M graphics card in mine. Any help would be great it was just a thought becuase my configuration with the touch screen was an extra $200 when I bought it 2 years ago.

Hi,

 

New here, and not much of a techie.   I have an Aspire One ZG5 with a 160 gig  harddrive that I've never filled even half of.  I'd like to upgrade to an SSD drive.  My knowledgeable nephew will be home at christmas to do the actual work, but I need to get the proper SSD for him to install.

 

I've read it takes a 2.5", but I've also seen 1.3" drives specifically for the Aspire One Netbook.  Uh, ok.  Which is it?   Does it indeed take a 2.5", they are much more common.  Is there any other size limitations to consider?  Maybe thickness?  If 2.5" fits, 1.3" fits, I'd assume the 1.8" units I've seen are also an option?

 

I have the computer, he's a thousand miles away and while very computer literate, he's never worked on the little netbook, so I'm at  a bit of a lose on getting the proper drive.

 

Thanks, I much appreciate any information regarding size, or even the better affordable brands.

aspire 7739 series windows 7.

 

at start up ai shows the ACER start screen-- switches to windows starting screen then to black screen, cursor at top left of screen.

Screen flashes the Blue Screen of Death, then starts over.----- Stuck in a loop.  will run all day this wat

hi  brought this afew weeks ago  second hand   was shown it working on the bing search engine  ,  got it home  went through connecting it which took time as manually having  to put in the ip address , netbook connected  signal excellent   ,,, IE  cannot display the webpage  , so after  trying  i typed in bing  and it loaded  ...  typed in ebay it loaded  ,, typed in youtube .. back to the same thing IE cannot load the webpage  ,  so  restored to factory settings tried  again still doing the same  .. have reset the router  stays the same  , have connected the ethernet    does the same thing  !      very frustrated as this is a xmas gift  for my daughter  :/  

this is acer aspire one netbook   {zg5 }    any ideas would be greatful    im not very  comp savvy so dont know what else to try  ...

My sparingly used Acer Aspire 8735G-744G64Bn with Nvidia GeForce GT 240M 1GB display card, would self reboot sporadically for few months and now is dead after normal shutdown.

Symptoms:
1. Black screen
2. Processor Fan runs for few seconds
3. Optical Drive whirs for awhile
4. No HDD activity

What I have tried:
1. Hard resetting
2. Swapped RAMs
3. Taken out HDDs
4. Found no shorts on external ports like USB etc.

Please let me have your suggestion on it. Could it be the video card or something else?

Can drop out 20 times per night.  Easy to reconnect but very frustrating - Anyone out there getting or had the same problem ?

i really like Shazam app on my iphone, but i couldn't find any alternative for my pc. i have a range of songs that i couldn't remember the name. Anyone have experience about this? please share or if possible. most of these songs are in japanese so i don't know how to spell them. I really in need for this software because i intend to hold a song guessing game for my class. I intended to choose some Japanese song but their names are just like "....ihh33bfu4mgs4t4335y5..." i don't know what it is, maybe it's due to font error....
